Malua is a small village on the Samoan island of Upolu.

The name originates from the Samoan word "Maluapapa" which is translated 'shelter under the rock'. It is located on the northwestern coast of the island in the electoral constituency faipule district of Sagaga Le Falefa which forms part of the larger political district Tuamasaga.
Samoaofficially the Independent State of Samoa and, until 4 Julyknown as Western Samoais a country consisting of two main islands, Savai'i and Upolu, and four smaller islands. The capital city is Apia. The Lapita people discovered and settled the Samoan Islands around 3, years ago.

Apia, the capital, is in the middle of the north coast, with Faleolo International Airport at the western end of the island.
The island has not had any historically recorded eruptions, although three lava flows date back only a few hundred to a few thousand years.
Tuamasaga is a district of Samoa, with a population of 83, The geographic area of Tuamasaga covers the central part of Upolu island. The population of Malua is Census. Malua is the centre for the Congregational Christian Church in Samoa and also the site of the famous Malua Theological College which was the second theological college to be established in the South Pacific inthe first being Takamoa Theological College in Cook Islands.
Today Malua is where all activities for the Congregational Christian Church in Samoa are centred, especially its General Assembly held annually in May.
The London Missionary Society was a predominantly Congregationalist missionary society formed in England in at the instigation of Welsh Congregationalist minister Dr Edward Williams working with evangelical Anglicans and various nonconformists.
